High overall quality for the food processor category. Since the new generation of food processors began hitting store shelves, we have lamented at poor blade life, weak mixing power, and warranty fiascos. Ninja have included top quality materials and accessories, and we were pleased with the overall experience. The design is also rugged, and stands up to the best.
Easy to use, but difficult cleanup. Cleaning can be a chore with the IntelliSense System. The deeper blender style bowl requires real effort to fully clean and santise, while the detachable blades and accessories are stiff and stubborn to remove. The bowl locking mechanism does manage to keep things in place when blending or processing, which does help to avoid messy spills.
Form factor limits use without expensive add ons. Despite the high price tag, the Ninja IntelliSense presents as a blender format. The deeper bowl makes it difficult to prepare certain recipes, in particular processing root veggies or when a coarser texture is required. Ninja seems to be aiming for the protein shake crowd, and miss the mark on the home chef. Expensive add ons can be purchase to alleviate these issues, but the system is already pricey as is.

Underwhelming style that delivers on features. Though the Pro 1200 has a somewhat antiquated look, it includes all of the modern features we expect in a food processing system costing over $400. That includes a large, family size bowl, intelligent and easy to use controls, and powerful motor for large jobs. The extras, however, are where Oster lose points.
Some (but not all) accessories included. Oster are somewhat stingy with the Pro 1200, and include only a handful of accessories and two mixing vessels. Considering the appliance is marketed as a combo food processor and blender, the cost of ownership will certainly add up when accessories for nut butter, dough, and juicing are required.
Built for food processing, but may not work for you. While Oster have a legacy of creating best in class kitchen products that are up to the task, you can find feature rich competitors that simply do a better job for less money.
